Learning Outcomes for LKG (Lower Kindergarten) students. These outcomes reflect what children are expected to achieve by the end of the academic year across core subjects.
Learning Outcomes – LKG Class (Ages 4–5 Years)
English Language
By the end of the year, the child will be able to:
Recognize and write both capital and small letters (A–Z, a–z)
Distinguish between vowels and consonants
Use articles ‘A’ and ‘An’ correctly in spoken and written sentences
Demonstrate understanding of “This/That” and “These/Those”
Sort and recognize word groups (e.g., bat, cat, mat)
Differentiate between singular and plural forms (one–many)
Identify and name basic colors and apply them to real-life objects
Understand and use opposites (e.g., big–small, day–night, in–out)
Recognize and use action words in context (e.g., run, jump, write)
Identify and name objects through picture recognition
Listen to and retell simple stories during story time
Mathematics
By the end of the year, the child will be able to:
Recognize and name 2D shapes (circle, triangle, heart, star, etc.)
Count, read, and write numbers from 1 to 100
Read and write number names from 1 to 10
Identify what comes before, after, and in between numbers
Perform backward counting from 50 to 1
Arrange numbers in ascending and descending order
Complete count and write, missing number, and number match exercises
Begin understanding and applying basic number patterns
General Awareness
By the end of the year, the child will be able to:
Identify and name parts of the body and sense organs
Recognize and name fruits, vegetables, food, and beverages
Classify and talk about animals, birds, and insects
Identify clothes, toys, flowers, electrical appliances
Differentiate between indoor and outdoor games
Identify and describe common actions and cartoon characters
Talk about festivals and seasons using relevant vocabulary
Recognize national symbols like the flag, emblem, and anthem
Answer simple questions about daily life and surroundings
Hindi Language
By the end of the year, the child will be able to:
Recognize, pronounce, and write (अ -अः)
Read and write 2, 3, and 4-letter Hindi words
Identify letters from picture prompts
Speak and understand basic Hindi vocabulary
Improve sentence-building through regular Hindi interaction
Rhymes & Expression
By the end of the year, the child will be able to:
Recite Hindi and English rhymes with actions and expressions
Improve memory and language fluency through rhythmic repetition
Participate confidently in rhyme time, storytelling, and music activities
Additional Developmental Outcomes
Develop fine motor skills through tracing, colouring, and writing
Strengthen gross motor coordination through physical play
Follow routines and classroom rules independently
Build social interaction skills: sharing, taking turns, listening
