Learning Outcomes of A2Z Preschool (Ages 2.5 to 6 Years)

Learning outcomes describes what children are expected to know, do, or demonstrate by the end of their early years education. These outcomes focus on holistic development and lay the foundation for lifelong learning.

Key Learning Outcomes by Development Area

Cognitive Development

Children will:

Recognize letters, numbers, shapes, and colors
Sort, classify, and sequence objects by size, color, and shape
Complete simple puzzles and pattern recognition
Understand basic cause-and-effect relationships
Begin using logical thinking for simple problem-solving

Language & Communication

Children will:

Express ideas and feelings in simple sentences
Build vocabulary through rhymes, stories, and conversation
Understand and follow basic instructions
Participate in storytelling, singing, and group talk
Recognize and name letters (A–Z) and their sounds

Pre-Writing & Early Literacy

Children will:

Trace lines, shapes, and letters
Hold and use crayons, pencils, and markers correctly
Match letters with corresponding pictures and sounds
Identify vowel sounds and beginning consonants
Start writing their name and simple words

Early Math Skills

Children will:

Count orally from 1 to 100
Count orally 1 to 20 (or 1 to 100 in upper levels)
Write numbers (1–10 or more)
Understand the concept of quantity (more/less, big/small)
Recognize shapes (circle, square, triangle, etc.)
Perform basic counting, matching, and sorting activities

Social & Emotional Development

Children will:

Interact positively with peers and adults
Show empathy, cooperation, and turn-taking
Express emotions in appropriate ways
Follow rules, routines, and group norms

Fine Motor Skills
